Software Comparison
Bill My Car vs Zoho for Car Dealerships: Invoice, GST, RTO Forms, Stock and Leads Compared
For Car and Bike Dealers in India
Start free →Zoho is one of India's best software companies, and for general business the suite is hard to fault. But "general" is the catch. A car dealership's day is invoices with chassis numbers, GST on the margin, Form 29 and 30, sale letters, ageing stock, and buyers who want one specific car. Here's where each tool actually stands.
Billing and GST
Zoho Books / Invoice: proper GST invoices, but built for products and services. GST goes on the full invoice value, the used-vehicle margin scheme under Rule 32(5) isn't a billing mode, and there are no fields for the registration, chassis or engine number.
Bill My Car: the invoice is built around the car. Registration, chassis, engine, odometer and owner serial are real fields, GST is worked out on the margin with HSN 8703, and unregistered dealers get the non-GST format from the same entry. Walkthrough: how to make a car sale invoice.
Sale letters and delivery docs
Zoho: not part of the product. The sale letter and delivery note stay as Word templates.
Bill My Car: both come out with the invoice, from the same data, including sale letters in Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati and a delivery note with a handover checklist.
RTO forms
Zoho: none, and that's fair, RTO paperwork just isn't what a general suite is for.
Bill My Car: Form 29 and Form 30 filled from the sale, plus Form 28 (NOC), 34 and 35 (hypothecation), 26, 27, 33, 25, 31 and 29C for the situational cases. One entry, the whole transfer set.
Storage, and who owns the data
Zoho: your documents live in Zoho's cloud, within your plan, for as long as you subscribe.
Bill My Car: every PDF saves straight to your own Google Drive, sorted by deal, with no cap from us. The archive is yours whether you stay or go. More: dealership document management.
Stock
Zoho Inventory: counts quantities of SKUs, built for warehouses. Twelve identical widgets, not twelve different cars.
Bill My Car: per-car stock with status (available, reserved, sold), purchase cost, asking price and days in stock, the ageing number that protects your margin.
Leads
Zoho CRM: powerful and configurable, but generic. You can bend it toward cars with custom fields and effort.
Bill My Car: a dealer-shaped pipeline out of the box, New, Contacted, Test Drive, Negotiating, Converted or Lost, each lead tied to a car in stock, with conversion rate and pipeline value done for you.

Is Zoho good for a car dealership in India?
Zoho is excellent general business software: Books for accounting, Invoice for billing, CRM for contacts. But it is generic by design. It has no chassis or engine number fields, applies GST to the full invoice value instead of the used-car margin under Rule 32(5), and generates no RTO documents: no Form 29, Form 30, sale letter or delivery note. A dealership on Zoho still does its real paperwork by hand.
Bill My Car vs Zoho: which is better for a used-car dealer?
For dealership operations, Bill My Car, because it is built only for that niche: margin-scheme GST invoices, every RTO transfer form pre-filled from one sale entry, vehicle stock with days-in-stock ageing, a car-buyer lead pipeline, and unlimited document storage in your own Google Drive. Zoho is better if your main need is general accounting across a diversified business.
Can Zoho CRM manage car dealer leads?
It can store them, like any contacts tool. What it lacks is the dealership shape: leads tied to specific cars in stock, budget-based pipeline value, and a converted lead flowing straight into the vehicle invoice and RTO paperwork. In Bill My Car the lead, the car and the documents are one connected record.
Where does each app store dealership documents?
Zoho stores data on Zoho's servers within plan limits. Bill My Car saves every generated PDF to the dealer's own Google Drive, automatically, with no storage cap from us, so records stay under the dealer's control permanently, even after leaving the product.
